As a result of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, the ATP announced on Friday that the Tel Aviv Watergen Open has been cancelled. It had been scheduled for the week of November 5-11.
“The violence and acts of terror witnessed in Israel are beyond comprehension,” stated ATP chairman Andrea Gaudenzi. “We strongly condemn any form of terrorism and mourn the loss of innocent lives across this conflict. We hope and pray for peace in the region.”
Tel Aviv had been one of three 250 tournaments on the schedule that week along with Metz, France and recently-announced Sofia, Bulgaria. It is the final week on the 2023 ATP calendar prior to the Nitto ATP Finals beginning on November 12.
The remaining tour schedule is as follows:
Week of October 16 – Tokyo, Stockholm, Antwerp
Week of October 23 – Vienna, Basel
Week of October 30 – Paris Masters
Week of November 5 – Metz, Sofia
Week of November 12 – Nitto ATP Finals
Week of November 21 – Davis Cup Finals
Week of November 28 – NextGen ATP Finals
